Parent Notification for the Biometric Finger Scanning system

On May 5th, seven LEAP Academy 8th grade ladies had the opportunity to attend the Women of the Dream, 2nd Annual STEM Conference for Girls, held at Drexel University. Throughout this fun-filled day, our LEAP students joined about 100 girls of color from other schools in Camden, as well as schools in Philadelphia, for STEM-geared activities that included conference speakers who were women of color in STEM fields, making spaghetti towers to hold a marshmallow, using 3D and laser printers, and participating in a Nitrogen ice-cream demonstration. Our LEAP students would like to thank Women of the Dream CEO, Leslie Morris for ensuring that our students were not only invited but that they enjoyed their time and were educated while doing so! We look forward to next year’s conference and we are happy to have our girls aspire to careers in STEM.
