The Rutgers/LEAP Health & Wellness Center is exclusively for students, staff and families of the LEAP Academy and the Early Research Learning Center (ERLA).

What if I already have a primary care provider?

If you already have a primary care provider whom you trust, please keep seeing them! You can simply use the Rutgers/LEAP Health & Wellness Center for acute issues when needed. For example, if your child gets an ear infection while in school. The Health & Wellness nurse practitioners can diagnose your child and prescribe antibiotics while they are in school so you don’t have to take time off from work to take them to see their primary care provider.

Can my child be seen at school?

Yes. Your child can be referred to the Health & Wellness Center by the school nurse, as long as the child’s guardian has consented to care.
