Each year, LEAP Academy inducts students to the Alfredo Santiago Scholarship Program, an unprecedented program that promises Kindergarten through 12th grade students an opportunity to attend college. The purpose of the Alfredo Santiago Scholarship program is to encourage students who have shown academic excellence and leadership qualities to excel in a higher grade level.
ALL Kindergarten and first grade students are inducted into The Alfredo Santiago Scholars Program. Upon high school graduation, each student in the program is eligible for the Alfredo Santiago Endowed Scholarship [link to page]. In order to retain the full scholarship year after year, each student must meet the program requirements and criteria. LEAP Academy fosters a culture of college access [insert link to page] for its students; the Alfredo Santiago Scholars Program makes affordable college education a reality.
With the Alfredo Santiago Endowed Scholarship, each LEAP student can earn a college education without the burden of the financial cost. The scholarship will contribute towards the tuition expenses not covered by federal or state financial aid. Support
Must maintain at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA in every grade until high school graduation
Must show academic excellence and remain engaged in all grade levels and courses
Must maintain excellent attendance in school - not exceeding 4 unexcused absences in one school year
Must maintain positive conduct and good disciplinary standing
Must exhibit outstanding character traits and be a role model
