As one of the Rutgers Centers of Excellence, the Center for College Access at LEAP Academy University Charter High School provides comprehensive support, academic advising and pre-college counseling support for over 1,500 students enrolled at LEAP Academy. The Center for College Access has garnered a reputation for ensuring that each LEAP Academy graduating senior is provided with the best possible opportunity to further their education and prepare for long-term academic and professional success, maintaining a legacy of 100% high school graduation and college placement for all students. These lofty expectations are a product of a “college-going” culture that has been established throughout the LEAP “cradle-to-college” pipeline. This LEAP Pipeline has paved the way for LEAP alumni to enter into some of the most prestigious and highly selective higher education institutions in our nation, including Princeton University, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell University, Brown University, Georgetown University, Rochester Institute of Technology, and Villanova University, and many other top-tier institutions. Through a wealth of dynamic student-centered college-going support services, including one-on-one academic advising, college campus tours, workshops, and parent-programming, the Center for College Access is able to create a unique, individualized high school-to-higher education planning pathway for each of the students in the LEAP district. Additionally, our Center leverages and supports students participating in dual-enrollment opportunities through partnerships with Rutgers University, Rowan University and Camden County College. Further, we sponsor an annual College Fair inviting over thirty college admissions officers to come and provide valuable information on opportunities in higher education, allowing the Center for College Access to build a culture of high expectations for each student, regardless of their academic background. It is the belief of every Center for College Access team member that all students deserve the opportunity to further their education, and we will continue to work tirelessly to transform the education landscape in the city of Camden, while working to manifest the mission and vision that Dr. Gloria Bonilla-Santiago established upon founding LEAP Academy in 1997. We have staff placed in every building and welcome you to visit and contact us. We are here to support students and parents as we work to prepare our students for their college journey.
